Prerequisites
No prior CISSP study is required. This workshop is designed to take you from the ground up — we start from the basics and build through all 8 domains at a pace that works for everyone. A general background in IT or cybersecurity is helpful but not mandatory.
10-Week Curriculum
Week 1: Security and Risk Management
Core security concepts, risk management frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), legal and regulatory compliance, business continuity planning, and professional ethics. You will learn how to think about security from a governance and risk perspective — the foundation of the CISSP mindset.
Week 2: Asset Security
Information and asset classification, data ownership and custodianship, privacy protection requirements, data lifecycle management, and secure handling and retention policies. You will be able to design and enforce asset protection programmes across an organisation.
Week 3: Security Architecture and Engineering
Secure design principles, security models (Bell-LaPadula, Biba, Clark-Wilson), cryptographic systems, PKI, physical security controls, and vulnerability mitigation strategies across enterprise architectures.
Week 4: Communication and Network Security
OSI and TCP/IP models, secure network architecture design, wireless and mobile security, network attacks and defensive countermeasures, and secure communication channels including VPNs and TLS.
Week 5: Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Access control models (MAC, DAC, RBAC, ABAC), authentication and authorisation mechanisms, identity federation, SSO, privileged access management, and identity lifecycle management.
Week 6: Security Assessment and Testing
Vulnerability assessment methodologies, penetration testing techniques, security audits and reviews, log analysis, continuous monitoring, and interpreting assessment outputs to drive security improvements.
Week 7: Security Operations
Incident response and management, digital forensics and investigations, disaster recovery, physical security operations, personnel security, and the tools and processes that keep a security operations function running effectively.
Week 8: Software Development Security
Secure software development lifecycle (SDLC), code review and static/dynamic analysis, common application vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10), DevSecOps principles, and acquired software security assessment.
Week 9: Exam Strategy and Practice
Domain-by-domain consolidation, the "think like a manager" exam technique, CAT (Computerised Adaptive Testing) strategies, timed practice question sessions, and identification of personal weak areas for final review.
Week 10: Capstone and Final Review
Portfolio-ready capstone deliverable, mock exam scenarios, peer review, and a personalised exam readiness assessment to confirm you are prepared to sit and pass the CISSP exam.
